Performer

As a dancer, I have worked with a variety of choreographers and directors from around the world through many different styles and approaches. I feel grateful to have learned from each experience and in turn, feel my own choreography and teaching have been enriched by the versatility of the creators I have worked with. I am fascinated with all forms of dance and feel the more the body explores diverse forms of movement not only enriches the life of the dancer, but also the person. Dance reflects culture, it is political, it is authentic and I´d like to think ageless. As a woman in my 50’s I sometimes question; where are the spaces for us to dance for the next 50 years? I often share the stage with my students, that has been a magical space for me, and hope for them as well. It puts us all in a particularly vulnerable state, In the act of performing, we are all working together to create and perform the best we can and it is a wonderful way to share time together outside the class studio. Dancing brings me joy and that is what I hope to inspire in those who share a creative space with me.
